Dr. Toth served an additional year as a 5th year Chief Resident for the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program at MCW. Since then, Dr. Toth has remained at the 鶹ѧƷ in both the Department of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics as a Professor and a Hospitalist for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

"I truly enjoy my career and feel that Med-Peds is well-suited for optimal patient care and endless opportunities!"

Lolia Abibo, MD, MS | Assistant Program Director

Lolia Abibo, MD, MSDr. Lolia Abibo, a native of Nigeria with experiences spanning three countries – Nigeria, Canada, and the United States – graduated with honors from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, earning degrees in Biomedical Science and Human Health and Nutritional Science. Continuing her medical education at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Abibo completed a residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at Beaumont Health in Michigan, where she also served as Chief Medical Resident. In 2020, she joined the 鶹ѧƷ as an Assistant Professor and Academic Hospitalist, focusing on medical education, global health, and hospital medicine.

"I chose to join 鶹ѧƷbecause from the moment of my interview, I was struck by the institution's unwavering commitment to academia, robust career development opportunities, and its vibrant setting in Milwaukee," says Dr. Abibo. "The collaborative and supportive environment here fosters continued growth and development, making it an ideal place for me to contribute and thrive."

Gabriel Aguero, DO | Chief Resident

Gabriel Aguero, DOGabriel (Gabe) grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and completed his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions at Creighton University prior to attending Rocky Vista COM in Parker, CO. What initially drew Gabe to the Med-Peds residency program at 鶹ѧƷwas the authenticity and genuineness of the program leadership and residents, alongside the excellent academics and free-standing Children's Hospital. Since then, he's made Milwaukee his home with his wife and border collie. They enjoy exploring the many hikes in and around Milwaukee, mountain biking, checking out the surprisingly great restaurant scene, and enjoying ice cream/custard even in the cold months.

"鶹ѧƷhas all the qualities of an academic medical program, but it feels more like a family; from program leadership to my co-residents and everyone in between, I know that I can count on them for unending support and guidance. The program has my back both professionally and personally – as the Chief Resident this year, I'm excited for the opportunity to continue that legacy with a laugh or two along the way!"
